I think JK Rowling borrowed quite a fair bit from Holocaust history when writing her last book.

- Jews had to declare their ethnicity - So did the Mudbloods
- Nazis hated Mudbloods. So did the Death Eaters
- The Nazis had Hitler . The Death Eaters had Voldemort
- The Nazis eliminated resistance movements . So did the Death Eaters
- The Nazis took over the Reichstag. The Death Eaters took over the Ministry of Magic
- Hitler died by his own hand. So did Voldemort.

I think there are more parallels that can be drawn. That there are rather obvious similarities, does not say much about Rowling's literary ability. And the ending is rather screwed, I should add.
